Change in the process of obtaining a visa to travel to Kenya

The Government of Kenya has set January 1, 2021 as the date on which it will only be allowed to obtain a visa to Kenya prior to arrival, and it is not possible to obtain it in Nairobi.

In order to facilitate the procedures, the following improvements have been introduced to the online visa application process:

• The approval time will be a maximum of 48 hours, in many cases 24 hours.
• A specific email address is created for any questions with the electronic visa ( e-visa@immigration.go.ke )
• You can also obtain the East Africa visa online, which also allows you to enter Uganda and Tanzania.
• The Embassies of Kenya in the different countries are authorized to process the visas directly and approve them without the need for the applications to go through Nairobi (in case any traveler prefers to process the visa at the Embassy instead of online), thus speeding up the procedure.
