From December 20 to enter the Balearic Islands it will be necessary to present a PCR with a negative result made within 72 hours before arrival on the islands.
Until now, only international tourists had to prove their health status with a negative PCR . The new regulations will now affect the rest of the travellers, who the Government has divided into three groups: national tourists, travelers from the peninsula due to force majeure and residents of the archipelago.
These new restrictions on mobility will come into force from December 20 and will last until May 9, when the state of alarm will expire.
You can see the regulations for each type of traveler in the following diagram:
For its part, the Government of the Canary Islands has also imposed similar measures. Anyone traveling from anywhere in Spain will have to have a negative Covid-19 test carried out within 72 hours prior to arrival on the islands. Children under 6 years of age are exempt. Three tests are supported: PCR, TMA and antigen test.
People who do not take the test before their arrival will have to isolate themselves and have it done on the islands within 72 hours or, otherwise, remain isolated at their residence for 14 days.
This measure will be in force from December 18 to January 10, although it can be extended.
The following map shows the laboratories with which the Government of the Canary Islands has an agreement to carry out these tests, without prejudice to passengers being able to go to other laboratories they deem appropriate.
